Adding 7 hours and 35 minutes to 9:45 PM is harder than adding two decimals because the carry rules change at 60 minutes (not 100) and the day boundary at midnight resets the hour count. Without this mode, naive subtraction produces nonsense for overnight work.
Adding or subtracting time from a starting clock time is the second core operation: 'I have a 90-minute meeting starting at 14:30 — when does it end?' The calculator handles this in either direction (forward or backward), correctly rolling over hour and day boundaries, and supports input in hours, minutes, seconds, or decimal form. Can the calculator handle time-zone differences or daylight saving? This calculator operates on raw clock times in a single zone — it does not auto-adjust for time zones or DST shifts. For cross-time-zone calculations, convert all times to UTC or a common zone manually before entering them. For DST-spanning durations, manually add or subtract one hour to the result depending on whether DST starts or ends within the interval.
